A Chinese mother was brutally attacked by her own son as she tried to stop him from playing on his mobile phone.
The 10-year-old boy, from Guangzhou, southern China's Guangdong Province, repeatedly kicked his mother in the torso when he was told to get off his phone, reported People's Daily Online.
The boy's grandmother, who was with the pair at the time, tried to stop the child from assaulting his mother, but to no avail. The shocking incident reportedly took place at a hospital in Guangzhou. The date of the event has not been revealed by the report on People's Daily Online.
A video of the incident has been widely shared on social media.
According to one version, the boy, wearing a blue sweater, aimed at his mother's chest and waist as he threw the massive tantrum.
The grandmother, who stood between the mother and the son, tried to calm down the child as she said 'we didn't scold you'.
The boy's mother, wearing a pink top, tried to dodge her son's kicks. Meanwhile, she told him: 'I just told you not to play on your mobile phone.'
In the 10-second-long clip, the boy violently kicked his mother for at least five times.
The woman, appearing to be frightened by her son's actions, did not tell him off.
